New Orleans Saints take to red carpet(1)

At presents,all the past and present members of the New Orleans Saints were treated as Hollywood royalty Monday night at the Prytania Theater.

Lots of people-- and several score more outside in a steady drizzle -- were on hand at the art-house icon to view the premiere of the Saints DVD chronicling the team's amazing 2009 season that culminated with their triumph in Super Bowl XLIV last month.

Quarterback Drew Brees, joined by defensive standouts Tracy Porter, Darren Sharper and Will Smith, and Saints ambassador Deuce McAllister, walked the red carpet. They followed the Oscar script, chatted with camera crews and fans along the ropes and then, inside, a gamut of news cameras and microphones is running before the curtain went up.

On one hand ,from appearances on David Letterman to golf with the legendary Jack Nicklaus, Brees has been riding the wave that generally carries a Super Bowl MVP which is clear from the way he has handled it thus far that he was ready for such stardom. On the other hand, Brees had spent his entire successful athletic career working for a championship that eluded him until February.
